Join us for our annual Outdoor Holiday Market! Several local accomplished artists and artisans will showcase and sell their wares including pottery, knitting, glass jewelry, recycled and upcycled sea debris, children’s wear and much more.
This is also a great time to do some holiday shopping at the CMA Gift Shop, which features 100’s of collectible ornaments, fascinating books, games, art cards, stationary and specially curated ocean-themed gifts.
This event is also part of Museum Store Sunday, a holiday shopping day that recognizes the value of buying gifts at museum stores where purchases directly benefit a good cause. By shopping at the CMA Gift Shop, you can purchase unique educational and inspirational ocean gifts that reflect and support Cabrillo Marine Aquarium’s mission.

Festival of Holidays & Tree Lighting | City Hall Plaza El Segundo | Thursday 12/7

The Recreation, Parks, and Library Department proudly presents our annual Joy Around the World: Festival of Holidays and Tree Lighting event. The event takes place at City Hall Plaza and the 300 block of Main Street. This free, family-friendly outdoor event combines El Segundo’s Christmas Tree Lighting tradition with the celebration of winter holidays from around the world, including Christmas, Diwali, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Nochebuena, and Ōmisoka.
Guests attending the event will enjoy live music and cultural dance performances, Christmas tree lighting, a visit with Santa Claus and gift giveaway, kids’ train ride, food trucks offering multicultural cuisines, craft-making stations, handmade jewelry and crafts for purchase, and more! This event is free to the public.
Santa will arrive shortly after 3:00pm for pictures with guests. A “fast pass” wristband will be available at the Joslyn Center in Recreation Park starting Monday, November 20th. Wristbands will be available to El Segundo residents with a valid 2023 or 2024 Recreation ID card. Please note “fast pass” wristbands are limited. If you have a fast pass wristband, you must be in the fast pass line prior to the tree lighting ceremony at 5:30pm.

Great Santa Stroll | Hermosa Beach Pier | Saturday 12/9

Join hundreds of Santas as we stroll along the Strand from Hermosa Beach to Manhattan Beach and back. The California Great Santa Stroll is a 5K fun run, walk or stroll to benefit Mychal’s Learning Place. Inspired by a world competition to set the record for the most Santas gathered in one place at the same time, all participants are given a Santa Suit* or child’s t-shirt with their registration. The funds raised throughout this campaign will directly benefit Mychal’s Learning Place, a 501c3 nonprofit organization providing programs for youth and young adults with developmental disabilities as they strive to achieve their goals and dreams of living a more independent life.
*The first 750 registrants will receive a Santa Suit while supplies last.

Join us for the 59th Annual El Segundo Holiday Parade as we “Groove down Main Street”! Unwrap holiday joy as the community comes together to put on a magical display of festive cheer! This year the theme is “A Home Run for the Holidays” as we celebrate our Grand Marshals…the El Segundo Little League 2023 World Series Championship Team! We warmly welcome local schools and organizations, joyful marching bands, vintage cars, businesses and creative floats! The parade route begins on Main Street at Imperial Avenue and proceeds south to El Segundo Blvd.

There will be real snow sledding for kids to enjoy, along with hot chocolate, lemonade, and snack stands. We’ve also planned special surprise guests (Santa and princesses) to visit us throughout the day!
This event does not require open play admission to LOOMA Space. All Snow Day events will be held outside in the parking lot. You may still join us for open play inside our facility, and order any food or drinks while you enjoy Snow Day! Reservations are not required for this event, and tickets will be available for purchase on the day of. The event will run from 9am to 5pm. Parking will be in the back. Do more than just give your wish list to Santa this season – spend some quality time with the man himself! Rooftop Cinema Club will be hosting Cookies with Santa at this special screening. Arrive when doors open to get your photo with Santa Claus, and grab a DIY cookie decorating kit to make your own holiday-themed sweet treat. Then settle in to enjoy a screening of ELF before Mr. Claus makes his way back to the North Pole!
Tickets are not refundable or transferable to other screenings. Should inclement weather take place while the event is happening guests will be eligible for a $20 credit for a future Rooftop Cinema event or screening.

Santa is making a list. Unfortunately, he has found out that one member of your team has been naughty this year. He has placed this person’s name on the Naughty List! Your mission is to go back to Santa’s office at the North Pole, locate his magical list, and get that person’s name transferred to the Nice List before he checks it twice!
Back In Time has agreed to use their T.I.M.E. Portals to transport you to Santa’s office, but you only have 45 minutes to complete this mission while Santa and his elves are out tending to the reindeer. But be careful! Don’t let Santa or his elves catch you, or you may all be placed on the Naughty List permanently! Good luck, recruits!

Terranea Resort unveils its holiday, one-of-a-kind, walk-up merrily decorated pop-up Gingerbread Lounge – located in the resort’s Mediterranean-style Lobby Lounge. The impressive seven-by-seven-foot gingerbread masterpiece will be adorned with gumdrops and candy canes featuring a functioning bar and an accompanying village complete with two trees and fencing fabricated from 1,000 pounds of house-made gingerbread and “painted” with royal icing. Guests are invited to sip special signature holiday cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages such as hot chocolate and hot apple cider and enjoy special menu items such as Chai Coffeecake, Maple Pecan Bourbon Pie and Sambuca and Chocolate Almond Biscotti and sweets created by Jermonti and his team. Visiting children can write a postcard to Santa, crunch on complimentary cookies and spend photo time with Santa on the weekends. Everyone will enjoy live music in the Lobby daily from 7 to 11 p.m.
This fantastical gingerbread pastry bar and village extravaganza is inspired by two experiences – a coastal environment with the whimsical influences of a “village by the sea” and by the traditional hometown Calabrian family creations remembered by acclaimed executive pastry chef Pierino Jermonti. The chef’s background even includes an elaborate “competitive” gingerbread community effort that gained the attention of the Vatican, and the Pope himself visited the creation one year.
Gingerbread Lounge opens Saturday, November 25, and runs to Friday, January 3; weekdays from 4 to 10 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 10 p.m. (Santa visits on the weekends only.)

As the holiday season approaches, a special mailbox has been set up at the Santa set near Macy’s. Children are encouraged to write letters to Santa, expressing their holiday wishes. The mailbox provides direct access to the North Pole, ensuring that Santa will receive all the letters. It is important to clearly write the recipient’s name and return address on the letter. The letters can be written and delivered starting from November 18, 2023. The first 100 children to write and deliver a letter to the mailbox will receive a response from Santa. Identity all 23* of the elves’ names and submit your completed postcard at any of our drop-off locations to enter for a chance to win a prize! We recommend checking the businesses’ hours of operation before going in (see below). Drop-off locations: Gum Tree, Sol Baby, Spyder Surf, HB Chamber, Soul Bungalow, or Star’s Antique.
Hunt ends Monday, November 27, 5pm. Winners will be selected and contact the week of December 4.
Participation Rules:
- *A majority of the elves’ names (20) must be filled out on the postcard in order to be qualified for a chance to win a prize.
